I do not have a mods folder. To all appearances subscribing to mods does not actually download them. There is no xcomgame\mods folder in my install directory until I made one and now it sits empty. They show up in the launcher, it says the mods are installed, but none of them have any effect on the game.
The only thing that you do put on the website is a Steam Workshops Mod URL. And so far, the most promising result I had was using "workshop_download_item 107410 453577279" where 107410 is the AppID for Arma 3 on steam and 453577279 is the workshop content ID of some random arma 3 mod/addon. (the content ID is the number at the end of the workshop mod URL). Extract the zip file into your SteamApps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Mods folder. How do I actually download the maps I've subscribed to? I hope it doesn't involve going into the actual Portal 2 game, as it's a bit of an inconvenience to have to start it up just to download the maps. N.B. General housekeeping too, in case you’re new to the Steam Workshop – just click the ‘Subscribe’ button on the Steam page for any of these you like the look of, and it’ll be downloaded and updated automatically. There are and will be many more best War of the Chosen mods, of course – please do point ’em out below. When you start the Steam client mods you've subscribed to will automatically download. When you start XCOM 2: War of the Chosen you can then turn individual mods on and off using the mod checklist.
