Back towards the end of 2016 we began work on a new mod manager, Vortex, to replace the ageing Nexus Mod Manager. Unfortunately, we considered this change a necessary act considering the mess that NMM was (and still is) in. I'm having exactly the same issue as the original poster "Cannot reach the Nexus login server. Either your firewall is blocking NMM or the login server is down.". I've updated to Nexus.Mod.Manager-0.65.4. I've disabled Windows & Norton firewalls. Initially it prompts me to enter username & password.
Also try uninstalling the mod manager and reinstalling If you download a mod and it fails this could help The Mod i want isnt on steam workshop but on nexus so i downloaded nexus mod manager and registered on their website. Everytime i try to log in to Nexus Mod Manager, it gives me the "Cannot connect to Nexus server: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found." This happens no matter what time of day, and i already made and registered 3 accounts already on their website to verify it Mods on Nexus need to have their virus scan completed before they can be downloaded via Mod Manager. These mods are only just being released today, so give the server some time. Do I understand correctly: You both share an account and it is working on one machine, but not on the other?
